Frequently Asked Questions

Don’t see your question here? Drop us a line, and we’ll do our best to answer it

How much will my web site cost?

The answer will depend on what you want your web site to do, its features and layout details. Obviously, a content-heavy, complicated newspaper web site will cost much more than that of a small local bakery, but that’s about as specific as we can get without knowing your particular needs and goals. Another deciding factor is the amount of design and development iterations that you would like to include into the process; any web site can be tweaked and fine tuned time and time again, and the number of those tweaks will inevitable add to the cost of the project.

I don’t know what I want… Can you design something that just looks great?

We can, but it will be our idea of “great,” not yours. Design in general and graphic design in particular is a very subjective thing. That’s why we ask our clients a lot of questions before starting to create anything. We want to be sure that we understand what you mean when you describe the desired look and feel.

You may not know what you want right away, but look at existing designs in your own industry, think about how you want people to perceive your company, think about your ideal customer and what would they like. This is not the entire solution, but it’s a very good start. Designing without knowing what you want would be a fruitless guesswork for us and a frustrating experience for you, not to mention all unneeded expense you would incur discarding one design after another before you finally see what you like.

Will I receive editable graphic files when the project is completed?

Normally, we do not provide those files, but if you want them we will be happy to oblige. For an additional fee, we will send you fully editable, well commented Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop files and transfer full rights to you. You will then become the only owner of these files and will be able to modify them any way you want. We will delete our copies of those files after the transfer, so make sure to back them up and keep the copies at a safe place.

We got our business cards from the printer, but the colors are a little different from the proof you showed us on screen

This is because computer monitors and printers compose colors in different ways and are calibrated differently too. If you have your own printer, print the graphic file on it and compare with what the printing service sent you. The colors will not be the same. These differences are normal and are nothing to worry about.

However, if the difference is severe, please let us know immediately and we will do our best to resolve the issue with the printing service.

How soon will it be done?

We make every effort to create realistic deadlines and avoid delays, but the actual turnaround time will depend on the size and complexity of your project and also on our overall workload. We work on several projects at once, and that may affect your deadline as well. However, we noticed that a project always gets completed quicker when our clients provide content, approvals, and accurate feedback in a timely manner as defined in their contracts.

All projects are tended to on the “first come – first serve” basis, but if you are in a hurry we can put you in front of the line at special rush pricing that is 50% more of the regular project cost.

Do you keep backups of completed projects?

Yes, we do. For the next 3 years after your project was completed or after the last update to it was done, your files stay safe as a part of our business backup system. If you lose your files, we will send them to you or restore your web site from the last backup we have for a very reasonable fee. If it’s been more than 3 years of inactivity, we can’t guarantee to still have your files.
